How to adjust the bow limbs?

Many friends who are new to archery have a feeling of why the arrows can't be shot accurately. Many friends think that this is caused by their poor archery skills, so they lose confidence in archery. In fact, the inaccurate archery is sometimes also closely related to the equipment! The bow arm is one of them, so how to adjust the bow limbs? Let the editor explain it to you below!

How to adjust the bow limbs?

Adjust the projection distance of the bow limbs

Modern bow limbs are generally made in pairs, why do they need to be adjusted? The reason is that the bow handle and the grip are asymmetrical. This problem can be solved through the following two points:

Dynamic distance: affects the force of the bow string. The adjustment of the dynamic distance requires adjusting the arrow point.

Static distance: affects the pulling force. When adjusting, adjust the angle of the bow limbs. The recommended static distance is generally 1/8-1/4 feet. This is the standard vertical distance from the bow limb (the junction of the bow handle and the bow arm) to the bowstring, close to this point to the distance from the tip of the bow arm (bow tip). In any case, the distance of the bow limbs must be determined according to the bow and string held by the archer.
To adjust the static distance, you can stand 18 meters away from the target (40cm target), aim at the target, and slowly pull the bow to the positioning point. The key is to move your hand directly to the positioning point, and it must be very slow.
If the arrow hits the top, increase the poundage of the lower limbs or reduce the poundage of the upper limbs. Similarly, if the arrow hits the bottom, reduce the poundage of the lower limbs or increase the poundage of the upper limbs.
