There are many types of bows in ancient traditional bows, each with its own unique definition and name! Each different shape has its own unique composition principle!

Today let us learn about one of the traditional bows - the triangular bow. According to their own cultural characteristics and war needs, the Egyptians absorbed the technology of the Scythian horn bow and created a unique triangular horn bow. Although the appearance is extremely unique, it actually basically continues the mechanical principle of the Scythian bow. The Egyptian bow makes the entire bow arm into a large arc-shaped recurve, and like the Scythian, the recurve is aggravated at the bow tip, so that the bow arm is almost straight after stringing, so the upper and lower bow arms and the bow handle form a triangle.

In addition, there is another type of triangular bow with a bird-head-shaped bow tip.

Its string-holding method is the same as that of the Scythian bow, and it also has a string groove and the bow tip is also outward-curved, but the bow tip is much smaller. It may be due to the strong cultural habits that the entire bow shape still retains many characteristics of the single bow. As a side note, the Egyptian-Assyrian horn bow archers had a somewhat strange release method. In the murals and carvings handed down, there is an "Avatar" release method, which is consistent with the Scythian archers, and another one is a Mongolian release method. The reason for this difference is really unclear.
