The ancient saying "recognize the enemy as if he were an enemy" is this, and this is the effort of focusing.

However, focusing and judgment cannot be separated into two things. When drawing the bow, looking at the target with the eyes is called judgment. When shooting the arrow, focusing the target with the eyes is also called judgment. In short, they all use the eyes, and they are not two different things. Why is there a distinction between judgment and focus? It is because when people draw the bow, they can see the target with their eyes. When a good archer draws the bow, his eyesight will be sharp and his mind will be focused. He will be focused from beginning to end. After drawing the bow, his muscles and strength are exhausted, and he will shoot without any time to see the target. His mind will be scattered and his shots will be biased. Therefore, after the word "even and light", the word "note" is added to remind people. When shooting, the eyes should see the target, or the heart, or the feet and head. The mind and hands should be focused on this target, so the word "note" is added.

It was originally designed for the clumsy archers in the world. When a good archer draws the bow, his eyesight will be sharp and his mind will be focused. He will be focused from beginning to end. He will shoot evenly and lightly with one bow. Why wait until even and light to "note"? Good learners must pay attention to it. The spot to be seen: the method of seeing is very flexible and cannot be fixed. It may change with the wind or the hardness of the bow. If the bow is soft, the target is at the head; if the bow is strong, the target is at the bottom; if the bow is strong and the wind is favorable, the target may not be recognized, and the target may be halfway hit; or if the bow is soft and the wind is against the wind, the target may be hit under the left palm; if the east wind hits the left, the west wind hits the right; if the bow is soft and the wind is strong, the target may be more than ten feet to the left and right; if the bow is strong and the wind is weak, the target may be hit to the left and right, and the size may gradually decrease, both in the east, west, south and north. Therefore, the target to be recognized against the wind changes at any time, and cannot be fixed, and it is up to the person to consider.

Although there are five parts of "examining, teaching, even, light and attention", they are actually consistent. Examining and attention correspond to each other from beginning to end, and they all use eyesight. Examining is at the time of drawing the bow, and attention is at the moment of shooting the arrow. The word "teaching" in the middle is the foundation of drawing the bow. Evenness is the power to end the goal, and to consider the opportunity to shoot the arrow. When people talk about shooting, they only talk about the goal, and they shoot as soon as they teach, without paying attention to size, left or right. Knowing the hub is the key to shooting far, not the key to hitting the target.

If the bow is not even, the arrow will be off target. How can a good archer do this? Once he raises the bow, his eyesight will be sharp, his spirit will be focused, and his spirit will be focused from beginning to end. Only after the hub, he will draw the arrowhead again, and evenly adjust it to a certain distance. After careful consideration, he will prepare a place where the arrow can be easily shot.
